David Johnson Résumé Sample

David Johnson was one of the top salespeople in his industry. After more than 20 years as a well-known leader in his profession, David was downsized by his company after the death of its owner.

After taking time some off to deal with personal issues, David pivoted and started a remodeling business.

After several years of this, David decided to relocate and get back into sales. He needed a new résumé.

A standard chronological résumé would have looked odd and required more explaining, so we developed a functional résumé for him that showcased all of his skills and experience, but which primarily focused on his sales expertise.

This branded him as what he was – a star revenue producer across a variety of media channels.

Before a recruiter even gets to David’s work history, four components at the top of the résumé say, “This applicant is a top salesperson.”

David will most likely be asked to provide his chronological work history, so we created a reverse-chron résumé to submit later. The goal with the functional résumé was to get him noticed better. He would only be asked for a traditional résumé after he made the first cut (with his intriguing functional résumé).
